In a normal document, the results of an import into SCAL…frustrating. The screen shots below show how using this template to create files for export to SCAL differs from a using a normal 12 x 12 document. I used it as a launch pad to get the Expression working, so that I could cut directly from Inkscape using the GRBL plugin.
GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program), Inkscape, Darkroom, and so on. Having upgraded the firmware on your Expression you probably cant take advantage of that any more. There were third party applications that let the Expression cut SVGs. The Expression is used with Cricut Craft Room which cannot cut SVGs or custom files unfortunately. I got the inspiration from another project that was for the Cricut Personal. Paper/vinyl/fabric cutting: Cricut Expressions 2 and Silhouette Cameo 3. Cricut Design Space only works with the Explore line of machines. I immediately took it apart, brought it back to life, and then decided to write new firmware for it. If you want it perfectly round use the control button. From the sidebar menu select the circle tool and draw a circle. Basically you lose all your hard work at getting your Inkscape files at the right size and in proportion to one another when you go to import and have to find ways to correct for that once in SCAL. My sister donated a dead Cricut Expression to me. I will assume you know very little about Inkscape, so you may want to skip through some of the explanations. SCAL has a lot going for it, but one glaring flaw is how it handles the sizing of imported files.
